buy frozen fruit, it’s waaaay cheaper, and just follow the instructions for thawing. fruit bowls

cheese trays. get the big blocks of cheese, get a couple of diferent kinds, like swiss and chedder…cut them into little cubes and asort them on a tray. pour a little olive oil on them and put some italian herbs/seasoning in there. those can be found on the spice aisle, and are conveniently consolidated into one of those little McCormick grinders. put some toothpicks on the side. it looks fancy, tastes fancy..but it isn’t…

i saw a really cute idea in a weding catalog where they took fortune cookies and dipped them in either chocolate or different colored icing. i’m doing it for my wedding, with the icing colors being the colors of my wedding. you can buy boxes of fortune cookies at sam’s club/costco, etc.

depending on the colors of the wedding, you can use that colored food, it always looks a little fancy-example-fuscia and tangerine, bowl of tangerines slices and cranberries.

have an official drink, but make it a cheapy-cranberry juice with a slight drip of vodka with a slice of lime on the edge of the glass looks pretty fancy…

you can buy m&m’s at hobby lobby that are in solid colors, and then put those into martini glasses. so the candy dishes can coincide with the wedding colors.

check the frozen food section! especially at sam’s/costco..you’d be surprised what kind of stuff you can find in there to serve at fancy parties and people will never know!!!

OH and frozen shrimp cocktails. everything frozen is cheaper….frozen shrimp and some cocktail sauce form the grocery store……in a martini glass….
